Many will ask "What on earth is Bitcoin?" or "What is cryptocurrency?".
Bitcoin is decentralised. No single bank, government, company or individual owns the network or has control over it. This means that your accounts can never be frozen, a government cannot devalue the currency, it can be used in every country, and, more ominously, because of the anonymous nature of bitcoin, the technically savvy can avoid taxation and use bitcoin as payment for any kind of illegal good or service. You can send Bitcoin or any other altcoin to another person anywhere in the world, they can then withdraw that Bitcoin or altcoin (cryptocurrency) from their crypto wallet and exchange/convert it to fiat (USD/EURO/ZAR...whichever currency they deal with) currency in their bank account. It takes only 4 seconds to send cryptocurrency with no middleman!

I have to agree with Gladstein and definitely on greed being the main driving force. Bitcoin is definitely the digital currency of the future. Just like faxes came about, and e-mail and the internet and online shopping...it took a long time for people to adopt the new technologies. Many said they would never use the internet or do online shopping. Where would we be today if we never had cellphones?
