At this age, everything is changing. Day by day, we don't notice, but just look back over the past year and you will realise everything has. People that you thought were going to be there forever aren't, and people you never thought you would be speaking to are now some of your closest friends. Life makes little sense, and the more we grow the less sense it will make. So make the most of now, before it all changes once again, because, in the near future, all of this is only going to be memories. When this year comes to an end, are you going to say to yourself: "I wish I had..." or are you going to say: "I'm glad I did"? If it happens to be the first, remember, the new year will offer you the chance to get it right!

Strength of Character

Life requires strong character when times are rough. A strong character finds resources to help any challenged situation and takes what is good and makes it grand! It gets stronger in harsh times and expands in easy times. It finds balance in receiving and giving to actualise all it can in this world.

The Outcome

Surely we should be able to guess what the outcome will always be if we keep repeating the same habits and belief patterns? If we were to implement a tiny change, can we be certain of the effect it would have? If we could pause our daily routine, even just for a moment, what could come flooding into our world? We can always put the brakes on if we need to. Perhaps we need to allow some space for the unknown. We certainly can afford to experiment.

Crossword Puzzle

Life is sometimes like a crossword puzzle with a highly cryptic set of clues so difficult to solve, that you wonder if they even match the puzzle you're dealing with. Surely it would be unfair to be given a challenge without the tools to be able to solve it? Sometimes, we have flashes of inspiration and a strategy pops into our mind. Maybe this particular puzzle is similar to one you've known before and you can use some of those answers. Perhaps those answers bring illumination and understanding and a clear path towards fulfilling your life long dreams.

Try, Try, Try Again

If at first we don't succeed, we're told to '"try, try again". One of the greatest obstacles to getting what you want is to remember past failures as if they foretell the future. Rather than repetition being the key, it's often the modifications we make, with each attempt, that help us to refine a process. Sometimes, a seemingly doomed endeavour is only a subtle shift away from becoming a foolproof plan.

Human Beings Are Weird Creatures

I was thinking about what weird creatures human beings are. How they can be all these different things at the same time, feel all these conflicting emotions. Love and hate, joy and despair, courage and fear. It's like we are some great whirling disc of every imaginable colour, on which the light constantly shifts and dances. It does not seem to matter how old you are, seventeen or seventy, the disc is always there, whirling away. Perhaps all that happens as time goes by it just get's easier to figure out the colours and know for sure which one you are looking at and what it might mean.

Against all odds...another classic love song and these images are so beautiful. A bittersweet song that started playing in my head a few days ago. It was quite weird actually as I woke up with it playing in my head. Why?...only heaven knows as I definitely did not hear it playing on the radio or anywhere else!

When you want something to change you need to make a request, and then reach for it. If you're not sure who to ask or where to reach, just ask the mysterious life force that lies at the heart of existence. That feeling, which yearns for something different, is fueled by that same source of energy. Just like everything else in the cosmos, you're part of that supreme power. In which case, you don't have to look far to find the help you need. You have the power to instigate change. You just need to believe in you.

As long as you remember why you're doing it, and for whom, that won't be hard to work out. Just don't be distracted by 'ifs', 'buts' and 'maybes'. There's a simple way to solve a complicated issue.

There are people that will argue about the number of years that the universe has been in existence. Everyone agrees it's been here for billions, though. I don't suppose much would change if we knew the precise date of creation. Why spend energy on this debate? Surely, what's important, is that it's here, right here and now, and that you, and the people you care about, are all present at the same time. If we really want to understand what's going on, we'd be better off appreciating what's happening under our noses. What is important is that there's a lot to enjoy today!

Release It

Sometimes we feel burdened by guilt from our past. If this is the case, if you cannot reach out for forgiveness, learn to forgive yourself. You are human. Focus on today and moving forward tomorrow. Do not define yourself by a moment from your past anymore. Release it. Who you are tomorrow depends on the choices you make today. You can make that choice based on something from your past that feels like a wound, or you can choose to do something that helps make you move forward and heal. It's always important to remember that you take time out for yourself, so that you can keep going and are actually able to be effective, without losing all of your center of gravity in the process.

What exactly is the wrong end of the stick? A misunderstanding? Having the facts wrong? Or simply being mistaken? Perhaps the problem isn't that you've grabbed hold of the wrong end of the stick, it's that you can't keep hold of it.
